Presenting your presenters for the Heropreneurs Awards 2019

We would like to thank Stuart Rock and Alecia Emerson-Thomas for taking on the responsibility of hosting the Heropreneurs Awards this year.

Stuart is a long standing supporter of Heropreneurs. A business writer and editor who has championed entrepreneurs for more than 30 years, he was the founder-editor of the UK’s first magazine for growing businesses, Real Business.

Currently, Stuart works with the ScaleUp Institute to make the UK the best place in the world to scale up a business and is editorial consultant to London Stock Exchange, Innovate UK and London & Partners. He is also a co-founder of World Class Britain and a modest angel investor.

He and our Chairman Peter share the same tastes in niche interests, so if you want to start up a conversation on church architecture or the real ale community then be sure to track him down on the night.

Alecia Emerson-Thomas, you may recognise from Sky One’s ‘The Heist’ is a former police constable, military spouse and multiple entrepreneur specialising in security and risk.

She is an active member within the military veterans community and uses her personal experience of living with a husband, a former Royal Marine, suffering complex PTSD to raise awareness of the condition in former serving personnel.

“The transition from uniformed service to civilian is life changing for the service personnel and their families and one I can relate to on multiple levels. It’s inspiring to see so many of those people utilise their skills and life experience often under immense pressure,  to start their own businesses. Knowing the Heropreneus network are there for support & guidance when taking that entrepreneurial leap of faith is incredibly reassuring”

If you ever want to feel inspired to do more, follow one of Alecia’s social feeds where you can follow her on an extreme physical challenges, racing around the country raising awareness of veterans issues or championing veteran entrepreneurs.
